Demonstrative Conference on Technologies in the Factories of the Future
Date: 12 September 2019
Location: Royo Group, Valencia, Spain
HuMan was present last September 12 in an event organized by Spanish bathroom furniture manufacturer, Royo and the Technology Institute on Metal-Processing, Wood, Furniture, Packaging and related industries, AIDIMME, two of our partner members of the HuMan consortium. The event was termed “Demonstrative Conferences on Technologies in the Factories of the Future” and was attended by numerous members of the furniture and metal sector and consulting companies. In addition, high representatives from the Valencian government like the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness Director Julia Company were present as well. AIDIMME’s Director Mariano Pérez, and President Fernando Saludes, and the CEO of Royo, Raúl Royo close such an important line-up.
The tight agenda included a presentation from the upper management of Royo and AIDIMME. Mariano Pérez and Raúl Royo spoke about their respective companies and on the innovation strategies of the industrial fabric and network and future challenges, always with the innovation in the point of view.
Following that presentation, Royo’s R&D Director, César Taboas and AIDIMME’s IT Manager, María José Núñez presented HuMan. Ms. Núñez introduced the project, its objectives and reason to be, its technologies and use cases, benefits and challenges, evaluation and concluded with next steps and lessons learned from the project. On the other side, Mr. Taboas followed and centered his presentation on the Royo’s use case specific technologies (Augmented Reality, AR and exoskeletons) and how they have faced the developments and testing.
The event continued with a real demo of a full implementation of Royo’s case of AR where Manuel Oliveira and Joao Costa from KIT-AR showcased the assembly of a Royo’s piece of furniture using the Microsoft HoloLens. This technology is an important part of the project and also part of the other two HuMan use cases: Airbus and the Italian industrial automation company, COMAU.
An informal lunch closed the event for the day where participants could interchange opinions in a more relax ambient.
